HISTORY
SAINT OGUN finds its roots in centuries old Nigerian Yoruba culture, where OGUN is an Orìsà, a native deity, known for craft and invention.
Past movements of Yoruba people, religions and traditions to the Caribbean and further saw him and his rituals evolve, in some parts taking his sacrifices in rum, and in others being practised as a Saint - sharing the same naming etymology as many Caribbean islands and cities.
These practices and their multiple expressions, including Santeria, are spread across across countries including Haiti, St. Lucia, Trinidad and some parts of South America.
SAINT OGUN is born out of the essence of this infusion and its connected diaspora, and shines a lens on its founders’ heritage across the Caribbean and Nigeria, with London at its core.

Founders’ Nic & Rico are both born and based in London and set out to create a rum that honours an ode to both foundations laid and futures yet to be seen.
“We’ve been drinking rum as far back as our friendship goes. That’s many, many years - and so we set out on a rum that captures great taste with a view on the experiences we’ve had over that time and a perspective on the intertwined places and spaces that are backdrop for it all.”
Made in both column and pot stills, SAINT OGUN is blended from rums chosen for their flavoursome profiles; characteristic enough to be enjoyed straight as a sipping partner or hold its own when complementing your favourite cocktail.
